Trusty-ADOPTED

This handsome boy is ready for Pre- adoption !
Trusty showed up at our gate one day with a completely shattered leg. He went through extensive orthopedic surgery to correct it and has a metal plate and many screws, but the surgery was a success. Because of the severity of the break, his leg will always be a little “bowed”. He is finally out of a cast and splints after a VERY long 6 weeks, and we anticipate he will be ready to go to his new home in few short weeks!

Trusty is a typical hound… he loves to tell you what he thinks with his deep howl! He believes that every human he meets wants to be his best friend. He is wonderful with all people including children. He also loves dog friends and gets along with all of our dogs wonderfully, but he doesn’t like to share his food. He came to us severely underweight so we don’t blame him. He still needs to gain about 10-15 pounds, but he is gaining a little every week. He also gets along with cats!

Trusty is potty trained and goes to the door to let you know he needs to go out, but he hasn’t quite mastered holding it for more than a couple hours. We don’t believe he had been an indoor dog prior to coming here so his progress is amazing, he’s a smart boy!

Despite being named Trusty, he’s a little UNtrusty when left unsupervised. He loves to counter surf for snacks and will eat any snack he can find. Full disclosure :)

Adopter must have a fully enclosed fence minimum of 4 feet tall. Trusty must be an indoor family member. He is not, nor will he ever be, a working hunting dog. His leg will never be 100 percent and his new home must understand that.

Trusty is neutered , UTD on all vaccines , microchipped, current on HW prevention and flea/tick prevention and negative for intestinal parasites.
